Spaceheads are a drum and trumpet duo consisting of drummer Richard Harrison and trumpeter Andy Diagram. Their music mixes the organic sound of trumpet and drums played through electronics and loops. The result is a curious mix of styles that is at times highly experimental and at other times very groove-oriented. At first glance, Spaceheads look more like an understaffed jazz band than a band on the cutting edge of electronic music. But seeing isn’t hearing and the trumpet loops and machine-generated timbres give the duo a unique sound, that is both electronic and electrifying Based in Manchester and London. They formed in the early 1989, coming out of the Manchester music scene and have since released many albums as well as toured extensively around Europe and the USA.
