Composer, vibraphonist, drummer, percussionist and writer, Arthur Dutra has appeared on albums of MPB artists such as Lenine, Paulinho Moska, Yuri Popoff & Beth Dau, Roberta Sá, Vanessa da Mata (with Gilberto Gil), Thiago Amud, Mart’nalia, Fátima Guedes, Erasmo Carlos, Délia Fischer and many others. He has collaborated with artists such as Silvia Machete, Zé Renato, Zé Nogueira Quinteto, Guinga, Cristina Braga & Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra de Solistas do Rio de Janeiro (OSRJ), Ronaldo Diamante, Paulinho Guitarra, National Symphony Orchestra (UFF), Alberto Continentino’s Ultraleve and Victor Biglione. He has performed throughout Brazil, as well as in the U.S, France, Holland, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, and China. In 2012 Arthur Dutra received Prêmio Icatu de Artes, an award-scholarship that allowed him to move to Paris for a 1-year residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts. He has released five albums as a leader including: Projeto Timbatu, with guests such as Marco Pereira, Nelson Faria, Mauro Senise and Quarteto Maogani; O Tempo do Encontro (Panai/Nature Bliss, Japan); A Musa de Benjamin & Outros Ensaios, chosen as one of the best albums of 2014 by Antônio Carlos Miguel of Jornal O Globo and G1, and Arthur Dutra & Jeff Gardner. His album Encontros, with saxophonist Zé Nogueira, was released by MP’B/Som Livre and chosen as one of the best albuns of 2016 by Kiko Ferreira and Roger Lerina of Jornal Zero Hora.
