Biography
Maestra -[my-struh] (31, Durham, NC) n. a versatile artist creating life-altering tunes ranging from Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Jazz and even Rock. Her act includes emceeing, singing and speaking the word, but if you let her, you'll get to see a little acting as well. v. not only does Maestra use her Theatre Arts-Acting and Psychology degrees from Purdue University to be a performing artist herself, but she has served in education as a Theatre Arts Director and Special Needs instructor. She ain't playing. In the single "Class Rules (M-A-E-S-T-R-A)", Maestra alludes to driving 40 miles away to teach the youth. Maestra's tag lyric in featured works, such as "End of the Tunnel" by Lena Jackson and "Say Something" by nacynze, is "tryna represent for the youngins back at home who feel as if they're going through the struggle all alone." Maestra believes God gifted music to disseminate love and power to the chosen. At the end of the day, "Its gonna be alright!"
