Biography

Biography At the age of two, his brother-In-Law, who was a musician taught him to play the piano and drums by ear. He then started to hum the notes to Stevie Wonder's, "Sir Duke." His father bought him his first guitar when he was 3. In elementary school, he would pretend to play the drums on his desk. He also studied the drums and piano. When he was 8, he discovered mix tapes. On Friday nights, he would record music off of the radio and play them for his friends in the neighborhood at the local park on Saturday mornings. He traveled to England, Paris and Germany. While he was there, he learned to sample and DJ. He also studied different cultures and types of music. At 16, He relocated to Sandersville, GA and won his first talent show contest. This is also when he named himself, DJ Pantha after Janet Jackson's "Black Cat" single was released. He then formed a rap group with his two cousins and called it "Mad Drama." The first single was called, "The Man Upstairs/Mack 10." At 19, he met a man named BNM, (Beats Never Meaningless) who produced in his old neighborhood. Both of their ideas created a rap group called "Da Enfatry." He then changed his name to DJ Melodic. Da Enfatry won local talent shows for three years. Their first single, "This World" was played on Hot 97 on a radio show called Home Jams in the summer of 1997. Currently, Melodic continues to produce music, and manage local artists.
