Tampa Florida native, singer/songwriter Shannon D. Williams, also known as RubbaBand Shan, creates a world of her own with her often charismatic, dramatic, and melodic interpretations of storytelling. She is no doubt a different breed of waviness coming into the new decade with a sound so hybrid, she can alternate from various genres; R&B, Funk, Hip-Hop, Dance, and Pop just to name a few. RubbaBand Shan grew up listening to Michael Franks, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind & Fire, Hall & Oates, and many other countless 80s and 90s R&B talents. Songwriting found a place in her heart at the age of 18 where she used the inspirations from childhood and popular acts such as T-Pain and Timbaland to fuel her magic for writing a catchy hook and enticing bars. In the summer of 2021, RubbaBand Shan and her producer Ron Mercy released their first collaborative EP called SHAN SOUL which carried several blends of R&B, Pop, and Dance elements. SHAN SOUL transformed her unique sound in a different direction that has changed the trajectory on how she approaches music. “I want to make music that embodies my personality, that also brings people together and creates those memorable moments that can one day become nostalgic.”
