Asdasfr Bawd (pronouced az-das-a-fah bor-d) is Half contemporary minimalist classical composer, half footwork, post dub producer. Off the back of his two track release ‘Nobody/Love’, 19 year old Melbourne producer Alex Clayton has been building momentum both locally in the clubs of Melbourne and across music blogs worldwide. Underpass EP sees Asdasfr Bawd at his most adventurous and most fully-formed yet. Melding skill-sets highlighted in both disciplines, Asdasfr Bawd takes his understanding of beautifully structured classical music, with superbly intellectual harmony and combines it with the emotional rhythms unique to early garage and footwork. The first single ‘Alsp’ is a demonstration of a masterful understanding of rhythm. The vocal sampling pushes and pulls the timing of the entire song, while simultaneously elating a beautiful melody, behind simple chords. Of Negative Energy, the second single, Asdasfr Bawd commented: "A vocal hook to die for, I tried to expose it in a variety of different ways throughout the track to keep the 'energy' flowing constantly, with a pretty spacious climax nearing the end."
