From the only borough with a “T-H-E” in front of it, CONTRA$T is a Puerto Rican Bronx-born resident and hip-hop artist. He found his love for music at a very early age, writing songs in all the notebooks he could find since kindergarten. It wasn't until receiving a brand new iMac in middle school that he discovered his love for music production and recording his own songs. What he loved about music was how he could create the world he saw in his mind through sound. Throughout highschool he would drop music on soundcloud, and gained some local recognition that sparked him to chase after being an legitimate musical artist as a profession. Once he met fellow Bronx artists, rapper- Ignis and producer- Muso, they formed an unstoppable creative alliance known as L2TK (Listen2TheKids). They've released multiple projects in music, film, art, & more- plus they have curated and performed at countless community based events over the years. The many different types of performances only sharpened his pen and evolved his sound. CONTRA$T’s use of melancholic melodies , heavy hitting bass and a charismatic rap style infused with the emotion of r&b is what gravitates people to his music. Many have referenced his classic kanye and drake influence as well. This has allowed him to make a name of his own around NYC. After years of dropping singles, CONTRA$T has finally dropped his debut album, titled “an x away from X2C”, which he executively produced himself along with the help of L2TK.
