Although he draws comparisons from the likes of J. Cole and B.o.B., I'm not sure if we've seen an artist like La'Keith Rashad. Hailing from the inner city streets of South Dallas, TX, La'Keith Rashad is a versatile singer-songwriter who could paint vivid images with his strong lyrical ability or get you deep into your feels with his catchy R&B hooks. Rashad was introduced to music before he could walk as both his parents were songwriters and singers at their local churches. As he grew, his love and ear for music began to expand especially within the genres of soul music and Hip-Hop. By the time Rashad turned 19, he had walked 5 miles to a friends' studio to record his first tracks and went by his stage name BLAK. BLAK had aligned himself with Dallas' most notable national acts like Dorrough ("Ice Cream Paint Job"), B-Hamp ("Do The Ricky Bobby") and Tum Tum ("Caprice Music"). As time passed, BLAK had taken a hiatus from music to recreate himself and shift his focus musically. He dropped his moniker BLAK and changed his name to the one he was born with, La'Keith Rashad. In 2018, Rashad discovered the Beatstars community for himself and began creating hooks for producers like Dreamlife, SoSpecial and DJ Pain 1 just to name a few. Currently, he has joined forces with a powerhouse team of songwriters and producers, Love Pulse Music helping to supply music to TV/FILM projects. Rashad is currently working on his debut EP slated to release this fall.
