Biography

Bio by Siara Strickland: A remote cabin in the mountains of North Carolina is where singer/songwriter Dylan Russell began finding his way again, and the kickstart of a project he never expected. Russell moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2013 and first found success in alternative pop music, when his 2017 single was remixed and garnered over 1.7 million streams and hundreds of playlistings. On the coattails of that success, Russell found himself in North Carolina with producer Christian Fiore and songwriters Sarah Troy and Thomas Daniel, all intent on creating Russell’s next pop project. Until they weren’t... “I found that I wasn't happy doing that and I felt like I was creating what I thought I needed to instead of what I actually wanted to. So my producer and I stripped everything back down to its core and started re-working the project.” Drawing inspiration from artists such as James Vincent McMorrow and Bon Iver, Dylan Russell began to make something completely organic, experimental, and even healing. In the midst of a budding music career, there is life, and through life, an artist gains inspiration. Still in the throes of a tumultuous relationship, Russell found solace in these songs as he expressed himself and his frustrations with his relationship in the music. Each track provides an honest insight into a relationship on the rocks and a man searching for better.
