Wardman is a versatile and respected figure on the European hard house scene. He is a DJ, producer and remixer, a resident at the club Trade and presents a show on the UK’s leading dance music radio station, Kiss 100 FM. He has been DJing since the age of 17, when his talent was spotted by an agency and he was signed to their books. In 1988, he set up a small radio station in Hampshire, England, that focused on a somewhat neglected youth audience. Its popularity flourished and it was later bought by the Capital Radio group. In 1992, Wardman was ‘head-hunted’ by Kiss 100 FM and hired to present the weekday breakfast show before moving to an afternoon slot. The show helped increase his popularity and Wardman became an in-demand name in clubland. He currently presents his House Nation show on Thursday evenings. In early 1997, he was signed as the new weekly resident at Trade and mixed their compilation Trade - Volume 4. It was here that he confirmed his reputation as one of the leading exponents of hard house and nu energy as practised by his contemporary and fellow Trade resident, Tony De Vit. Wardman was one of the DJs to take Trade on its first ‘world tour’ to Australia and South Africa as well as on a comprehensive tour of the UK. In 1998, Wardman completed remixes of Jocelyn Brown’s ‘Love Is...’ and 99th Floor Elevator’s ‘Hooked On Love’. An EP of Trade’s resident DJs’ recording work was also released in 1998, featuring the Trade DJs, Alan Thompson, Malcolm Duffy, Steve Thomas, Ian M and Tony De Vit. Sadly, the De Vit track was the last that he recorded before his premature death. Wardman also signed a contract with Tripoli Trax in 1998 and his debut single ‘The Lizard Queen’/‘Tragically Glamorous’ was their bestselling release of the year. Wardman is now able to tour independently with clubs in the USA, Canada, Israel, Europe, South Africa and the Far East. He was rated number 41 in the chart of The World’s Top 100 DJs in the UK’s DJ magazine. In 1999, Wardman completed further singles for Tripoli Trax, mixed further compilation albums and collaborated with Baby Doc.
