Coming out of Huntington, WV is Nine Blade, an up-and-coming artist infusing rap and emo cultures into his music. Nine Blade originally started music in 2007 in a garage rock band called “Sleepless and Motionless”, where he was vocals and drums. This, as well as two more failed bands in 2009 and early 2010, inspired him to spin off into his own writing career. . On December 24, 2019, he released his first single ‘All Black Christmas (feat. Macky),’ with Macky not only featuring but mixing. Come January 17, 2020, his first full-length album ‘In the Dark’ launched onto all platforms and peaked his profile at just under 4,000 monthly listeners. . During the COVID-19 crisis of mid-2020, Nine Blade had announced through his Twitter and Facebook that he was in the midst of three projects: a single, EP, and album. He then went on to explain that due to the virus, both the single and EP would be put on hold to keep focus on his second album, ‘This Long Road,’ which dropped on August 28, 2020 and was a critical success. ‘This Long Road’ resulted in podcast interviews, blind reactions on YouTube and Facebook, and more attention for Nine Blade. . After having split apart from his production team at JF Music briefly in early 2021 for undisclosed reasons, Nine Blade advised his next drop would take some time. This hiatus lasted for about a year, during which he continued to write. These events led him to release his previously-planned single ‘Make Me Numb’ on July 8, 2022.
