When Buenos Aires native Eduardo Makaroff and Swiss born Christoph H. Müller met in Paris during the creation of the Gotan Project in 1998, they both already had a rich musical background and careers in music in their countries of origin as well as in France. Alongside their activities within GOTAN PROJECT they have written and produced music together for feature films, documentariesand advertising. In 2014 Catherine Ringer (from french cult band Les Rita Mitsouko) joins them to sing their new Tango Pop songs. The result is an album: Plaza Francia, “A new Tango Songbook” released by french label Because. Another big tour followed in France and Europe. Plaza Francia has played in major festivals and venues in 2014 & 2015. In 2018 Plaza Francia becomes Plaza Francia Orchestra, releases a second self-titled album and goes on another tour which ends in Abu Dhabi in the fall of 2019. In December 2019 Müller & Makaroff present, together with visual artist Ian Kornfeld, their new project ANTROPOCENO! for the first time at COP25 in Madrid. A first single "Antropoceno (atentas al)" feat. Fémina, Hilda Lizarazu and Mia Folino appears in the fall of 2020, followed by "Ahora" with the voices of Greta Thunberg and David Attenborough. With Antropoceno! they participate in the 2020 edition of the UN Global Climate Action Awards. In May 2022 they release "Todo puede suceder" feat. Kevin Johansen in a joint operation with Brian Eno's EarthPercent organization.
