Glaring moonlight disturbs the dark night. A lonesome melody coming from an old radio in a deserted world. A rhythm as raw as the forest‘s nature and as monotonous as machine noises. From this mood the sound of MODESHA emerges. MODESHA is a four-piece band based in Germany, influenced by UK Bass Music, Trip-Hop, Dub and Electronic Pop Music. The band’s sound is made up of tender vocals (Melanie Ring) wrapped around impulsive lo-fi drum beats (Matthias Hetzer), a shattering sub bass (Steven Kuhlmann) and razor-sharp sawtooth synths (Benjamin Schulz). Facing the zeitgeist, the four musicians succeed in bridging the gap between genres, delivering unique and unconventional song structures and exploring the boundaries of sonic manipulation. The lyrics focus on the emotional struggles of the millennial generation.
