Influenced by electronica, ambient music and IDM, ROD-R draws inspiration from artists such as Robot Koch, Clark, Rival Consoles and Lorn, in whose work he finds the essence of a magnetic, contemplative music at the border of different universes. His sonic creations, which he always imagines in the form of mental images, present the search for an elusive equilibrium between harmony and more experimental textures. While ROD-R may explore emotion through the prism of melancholia, introspection and sensory perception, he is also happy to “let the machine speak” by leaving space for the random, the accidental and the glitchy, aesthetics that produce the grain, noise and textures that make his sound so unique.
