Biography

Lynn Fattouh, aka Malikah (Queen in Arabic), was born in Marseille, France. Raised in Beirut under the shadow of war, Malikah first hit the Lebanese hip hop scene at the age of 16, showing early signs of success, working with EMI Arabia in 2003 after winning a hip hop competition. Malikah has performed on stage with or opened for some of the biggest names in the music industry including Snoop Dogg, Gorillaz, Guns and Roses, Rashid Taha and Damon Albarn. DMC (Run DMC), Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Mobb Deep, Akhenaton from I Am (France), Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Statik Selekta (USA) and many more are all artists who have championed her rap skills - which have been thoroughly tested with audiences in parts of Africa, North and South America, Europe, and the Arab world garnering her the title of the first female Arab MC to reach the corporate radio waves (*topping NRJ radio’s top 20 billboard chart in the Middle East), and the first female Arab MC to garner production support from the likes of DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill), and FredWreck (Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre) as well as collaborations with international Hip Hop artists such as Rustee Juxx. Malikah is a vocal advocate for women taking up the mantle as artists who are becoming vehicles for change within their respective societies. She has hosted her own TV show which shed light onto the underground Arab artists scene. Malikah was featured in Vogue magazine, CNN, Reuters, The Washington Post and more.
