Gummy was born on June 19, 2003, in Blantyre. He has since gained national attention for his music and originality. In 2018, Gummy and LaFlareboi began recording songs under the moniker "Young CEO's”. They debuted with the song "Let’s Get Lit" as their first song, and after determining that people enjoyed it, they released further songs and projects on SoundCloud, Spotify, and other streaming services. In 2020, Gummy secured a recording contract with King Tuzi’s Szn Records. Gummy hinted, "It was a difficult choice to make, but as time goes on, a duo always needs to part ways and work on their individual crafts." “Despite the fact that we are both on different genres, Flare’ is still my brother.” After moving to Namibia, Gummy lost interest in performing music, but King Tuzi, his friend Thabo, and others kept encouraging him to persevere and keep working. Following that, in 2022, Gummy collaborated with a producer by the name of Cyphen, who advised that he should try out a different genre like amapiano. Gummy and Cyphen then launched into a song called "Feela bho" with Cyphen and Dj No Permit that did not drop. A few weeks later, Gummy and Cyphen produced "Welele," which became a hit and swept Malawi by storm in December 2022, giving birth to the new duo, "Gummy X Cyphen." As a pair, Gummy and Cyphen are now signed to Szn Records; they are excited to share this experience with everyone and can't wait to share their upcoming work with the world. This is Gummy. Halla!
