Rafael Milhomem is the founder of the power metal band BaRok-Projekto, the first to release an official album in Esperanto. As a composer he had already been a finalist in the music contest Kanto de la Jaro (2013) of the magazine Kontakto with the title “La plej bona ĉasisto” (the best hunter). In 2016 he received first place in the same contest with the title “Jen nia Viv-River'” (here is our life-river). He was a finalist in the composing contest Novas 3 in Brazil with the title “Ritoalma” (in Esperanto “Ritaro de l’ animo”, in English “Ritual of the Soul”) and in the Music Professionals Award (2019), in the "Classical Instrument" category Besides BaRok-Projekto, Milhomem is also active as a composer, a musical arranger, and a musician, playing the electric guitar in the bands (ex)Sunroad, (ex)Euphony, and the acoustic guitar in the guitar trio El Ligno Trio and in the guitar quartet Goyazes. Nowadays he is a music teacher in musical-social projects. Rafael received a musical degree in guitar at the Federal University of Goias, Brazil, and specialized in child education and now he's doing his master's in music. Besides the classical and electric guitars, he plays music on the cavaquinho, the recorder, the Amerindian flute (he makes his own flutes), the melodica (or blow-organ), bass guitar, and percussian instruments.
