Pianist Aurelio Viribay specializes in the accompaniment of singers. Throughout his career he has worked in several countries and with many singers including Walter Berry, María Bayo, Ainhoa Arteta, Annalisa Stroppa, Celso Albelo, Alicia Nafé, Saioa Hernández, Ángeles Blancas, Ofelia Sala, Ruth Rosique, Ana María Sánchez, Ruth Iniesta, Raquel Lojendio, Sandra Ferrández, Carmen Solís, among many others. His discography includes CD recordings with singers, such as Marta Knörr, Lola Casariego, Mar Morán, Pablo García-López, Gabriel Alonso, Guzmán Hernando and with the Vocal Quartet Cavatina, on labels like Odradek Records, Columna Música and Stradivarius. He has been professor at the 'Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts' and the 'Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna'. Currently he is a professor at the 'Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid', having also collaborated as an accompanist in masterclasses given by Thomas Quasthoff at the 'Mozarteum University of Salzburg', Walter Berry in Austria and Teresa Berganza at the 'Reina Sofía School of Music' in Madrid. Aurelio Viribay obtained his Ph.D. from the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid with a thesis about "The Art Song by the Group of the Eight in Madrid".
