Elena Ortega´s first encounter with the guitar was in Madrid where she was born and completed her studies. After graduating from the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid with a Bachelor´s of Music degree, she went on to complete her Master´s degree in Classical Guitar Performance in Seville. Inspired by a profound admiration for the traditional Spanish repertoire and its deep folkloric roots, she later completed yet another Master´s degree in the discipline of Solo Performance of Spanish Music from the Katarina Gurska Superior School of Music. She has attended Master Classes with David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Pepe Romero, Iliana Matos, Alex Garrobé, Laura Verdugo del Rey, Gabriel Estarellas, Zoran Dukic, Francisco Bernier and Ricardo Gallen. Her many solo performances in prestigious concert halls such as the Cibeles Center, the Circulo de Bellas Artes and the Ateneo de Madrid have all been resoundingly successful. She has also participated in major festivals such as the Andres Segovia International Guitar Festival in Madrid, the Mediterranean Guitar Festival in Barcelona, the Hanoi International Guitar Festival in Vietnam or the Festival de Guitarra de Guanacaste in Costa Rica. Elena has performed as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Getafe and the Athanor Orchestra in Split, Croatia where she performed the iconic Concierto de Aranjuez.
