The Australian singer/songwriter has received a lot of attention from the film SHORTBUS (2006). Besides the theme track In the End he wrote further songs performed in the film by himself and featured on the Shortbus Soundtrack. He provided vocals on songs (by Yoko Kanno) for the animation-serial Ghost in The Shell. His self-titled debut was released in 2008. With Sia he recorded his Christmas Song Silent Nights. The forth album was A covers-album Unlearned (2013). His personal hit-parade. In a wide varity of songs he discovered, felt and worked out the emotional core with a lot of respect (I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Annie's Song). Life Is Long together with the Portuguese composer Rodrigo Leão (Madredeus) followed in 2016. With Ode to Others (2018) there was a departure from the subject of romantic love and the disappointments that can come from such endeavors. Instead this album pays homage to love in a broader sense. Honors are bestowed to family, friends and the mistreated both alive and deceased. His latest work is titled ‘ADORNED’ (2020). The idea for making ‘ADORNED’ was to take ten of his original songs and re-imagine them. To dress them up in finery and have them re-enter the world with a new found confidence and attitude. A make over of sound and intention. “They have been adorned” says Scott.
