Let Love Grow

The Watchman of Spokane

Biography

Bluegrass? Mountain music? Alt-country? Cottonwood Boys don't really know what to call themselves, seeing as no one asked them.
With twenty years of experience in country, jazz, and folk music between them, multi-instrumentalists Bif (Tom Frear) and Ducky (Clayton Ryan) have captivated audiences of the Northern Plains with a comedic, blue-collar demeanor, virtuosic fingerstyle playing, and award-winning songwriting sharing tales from The Tetons to The Mississippi River.
Within weeks of their first release, "Let Love Grow," the duo had already lined up a six-day tour across Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Their sophomore single "Watchman of Spokane," a rustic murder ballad about the true 1908 killing a silver miner in the ghost town of Spokane, South Dakota, was immediately featured on both South Dakota Public Broadcasting and The Americana Music Show. The song won third place in American Songwriter's lyrics competition.
