McStormi started doing music in high school (mostly guitar, piano and singing) to express herself in ways no other means could. Mostly gravitating towards folk music, indie and rnb, it's during the 2020 lockdown that she decided to learn the basics of jazz theory. This resulted in a first lofi mixtape on Youtube. Lofi is very aligned with her calm and reflective self. With the intention to communicate the complexity of feelings and experiences, McStormi tries not to showcase only one side of them. As lofi is after all the perfect hybrid genre, it allows her to mix and take bits of folk music, rnb, jazz or other genres and make it her own.
