In an interview, Andrew Paley once described his songwriting as the pursuit of "open spaces, sharp edges and bright colors." He was referring at the time to his work with the critically acclaimed post-punk band The Static Age, but it's now clear that he’s carried that spirit with him into the next chapter. And that next chapter is growing into a book of its own – a collection of albums, singles, and collaborations that seamlessly cross genres of post-punk, alt-pop, art rock, folk, and electronica, and garner comparisons ranging from Peter Gabriel to Bon Iver, from Boards of Canada to Elliott Smith. In addition to his solo work, Paley has released collaborations with artists like StayLoose (including "Let Go" on Steve Aoki's Dim Mak), OMAS, and DRYVE, plus a split with folk-punk band Days N Daze featuring dual versions of Paley’s song "Caroline." Now, this body of work will continue to expand with the forthcoming album “UV,” which will be released initially as a series of singles. The first, “Dead Centuries,” is out July 19th, 2024. A Summer tour in Europe with Dead On A Sunday will follow, adding to Paley’s already extensive touring across the US, Europe, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, and elsewhere, including with artists like Bob Nanna (Braid/Hey Mercedes), Garrett Klahn (Texas Is The Reason), Adam Rubenstein (Chamberlain), Emperor X, and The Bridge City Sinners. Once back home in Chicago, Paley will release a string of singles in late 2024 as he builds towards “UV."
