Inspired by their birthplace, Venezuela, the Badillo brothers started CARACAS in 2011 at their new home in Vancouver, Canada. Since then, the band has played hundreds of shows, sharing the stage with Latin Grammy nominated artists such as Jarabe de Palo (Spain), La Gusana Ciega (Mexico), and Gondwana (Chile), and touring Western Canada and the Mexican Caribbean. In 2019 the band will release a number of new songs inspired by the Venezuelan people's struggle for freedom from a repressive dictatorship - with their Joropo-Rock single "(El Ultimo Dia) de la Familia Buendia" already released in the Pacific SoundSystem Ska and Punk Compilation Volume 3 (https://pacificsoundsystem.bandcamp.com/track/el-ultimo-dia-de-la-familia-buendia).
