Born Jama Marafane, the East London bred rapper, producer and songwriter has had a passion for music from the tender age of 9. A pioneer of the neo-trap sound, a master of boombap and a versatile virtuoso, Hristo 27's skillset goes beyond hip-hop. He has a solid jazz background as a jazz vocals major, having been mentored by Omagugu Makhathini at the University of Fort Hare. His journey as an independent artist officially began with his 2019 single "The Code & The Prophecy". The 2022 track "Midnight Freestyle" came with some social media attention, where he established himself as not just an artist, but a hip-hop culture influencer and music curator.
