Biography

Combining disturbing vocalizations with distorted and disquieting sounds, Lateral Tension produce distinct visions for industrial rock's tumultuous domains. Tension's operations began in 1997 in Seattle, WA, when Razor and Malachi made their first sound experiences. After several experimentation sessions, the duo started preparing what would later become Tension's first record, 1998's Pressure Device. Lankhaar joined the two shortly afterward, providing invigorating sound junctions to the band's already flammable compositions, attaching to it even more synthesized sound dimensions. Defending their unique industrial rock compounds live on-stage, Lateral Tension also started gathering a large fan base, as well as considerable airplay on local and international radio stations. In late 1998, Richard Grind became the final addition to the band's set, before the unit entered their first extensive touring season. Receiving exciting reviews from the media, Tension started preparing their second full-length album, 2001's Moral Fracture. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi
