Alvin Davis is a Jazz Saxophonist, singer songwriter and composer from Birmingham, UK and a seasoned musician. A prolific composer/songwriter he has composed a wide range of jazz and roots orientated music from Fusion, House, Broken beat through to Soul and R&B. 'Dub The Jazz' is a mixture of these styles but essentially incorporates Smooth Soul with the Reggae grooves of his Jamaican roots. This sensual and contemporary mix is captivating. As a session player, Alvin has worked with the likes of Maxi Priest, Andy Hamilton, Edwin Starr, The Foundations, Neville Staples (Specials, Fun Boy Three), Alton Ellis, The Heptones, Macka B, Jackie Graham, Nigel Kennedy and David Hinds of Steel Pulse. Releasing his debut album 'Let It Blow' (Sony Tristar 1992), was for Alvin; "An opportunity to bare my soul in the studio and fulfil my ambitions." For the critics it was "an erotic mix of horn and sax with expressive sensuality. 'Let It Blow' took Alvin around the world, with the album reaching number 4 on the American R&R (New Adult Contemporary) National Airplay chart, winning him the first round of the critical acclaim that has become a hallmark of his career on both sides of the Atlantic. The album also broke into the Top 10 of the influential Gavin A2 Adult Alternative chart in America.
