Natchet Taylor is a singer/songwriter carrying on the time-honored Texan story-telling tradition; commingling modern tunes with old-school tones, songbird sinew with weary bones, Chuck Taylor’s shoes and cowboy boots, branches tall but not far from the roots. How best to describe the music of Natchet Taylor? Let’s just call it what it is — Natchet Taylor music. From punk rock and hard rock to honky-tonkin’ county, Americana, Folk-Punk, and Cosmic Cowboy blues; the ever-prolific, Texas-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist follows his inspirations wherever they may lead. “To me, it’s all about the songwriting,” he says. “If a song takes flight and strikes that chord, I don’t much care what genre it is. If a song is great, it can transcend being labeled.” Starting out at a startlingly young age, Natchet began picking at the guitar and plinking on the piano to blues and country standards before getting into rock n’ roll and punk rock. Natchet became a fixture of the rock and punk scene in Austin, Texas’ infamous Red River District howling in notable bands New Disaster and Nowherebound and his rambling ways often took him touring the US and Europe, sharing his tunes with anyone who’d listen. Natchet Taylor, as a solo artist, has released the full-length album “Rainy New Moon” as well as the single “What’s Going on Today”. Currently, Taylor is working on a new full-length Honky-Tonkin’ Americana album with his band The High Lonesome slated to be released in 2023.
