Delectable disco cuts aren’t exactly the order of the day in the countryside of Newbridge, Ireland but that hasn’t done anything to temper the efforts of Gary O’Reilly and Rob Smyth, better known as Mix & Fairbanks. Their clever sampling and dance floor nous has enabled them to create a stream of quality cuts, which brought them to venues in Dublin, Barcelona, London, Bristol, and festivals Eastern Electrics, Body & Soul, Electric Picnic, Life Festival, Longitude & more. Their past releases have gained support from heavy hitters like Skream, Krystal Klear, Tensnake, Folamour, and Fouk. Orange Tree Edits Vol 3, the first vinyl release for the lads hit the top of the Juno charts. They’ve appeared on wax twice since, with a 4 track EP on LA’s Pleasure of Love and two Azoto edits on High Fashion Music alongside Major Swellings (Prins Thomas). The latest single ‘Ground Control & Major Toms’ sees them return to their local label 045 Recordings, and has received early support on BBC Radio 1 from Pete Tong and Danny Howard.
