House and techno have been an obsession for Vernon since his musically formitive teenage years in the 1980s. Collecting the sounds of hip hop, industrial music, early house, Detroit techno, and the Warp records sound that came from the UK, it wasn’t until he experienced the local underground culture that he took the next step-to start his DJ career. His multi-dimensional DJ sets span from stripped-down techno, to jacking acid, and all the aspects of true house. The tracks all have one thing in common—they bear a lineage back to Jack himself. His vision is to create a futuristic dance party, energized with funk, soul and emotion that is sure to move the mind as much as the body. In 2002 Vernon established Deepen as a label, with a run of very successful vinyl releases. Each release garnered critical acclaim, features and reviews in all of the top leading dance music publications and support by DJ’s across the globe. In addition to countless DJ mixes, his productions have been featured on OM, Woodwork Recordings, Fresh Meat Records(Chicago), Evasive(UK) and on his own Deepen Discs imprint. His 2022 collaboration with vocalist Tim Fuller under the “Soul Class” moniker has been signed by Germany’s OnlyOne music for a vinyl release. Currently, Vern can be found back in the studio, producing Deepen parties, and running the label. His objective is to sound futuristic while remaining loyal to the lineage of house music.
