Taylor Peter Karras, better known as T. Karras, is a hip-hop producer who has been an avid fan since he found it in 2007. His early influences include Jay-Z and Nas. As hip-hop evolved, so too, did his inspiration, where artists like Kendrick Lamar and MC Lyte now tantalize his muse. In 2010, Taylor decided to start writing his own lyrics in an effort to face the anger and emotion deep within himself, and turn it into a tool that served him - rap. The road was rocky at first - learning production proved to be a challenge in and of itself, but with diligence, and the help of other genres, such as vaporwave, Taylor was able to find a way to focus his thoughts into solid tracks that he uses to build his albums, all while using his daily experiences and the cathartic freedom of hip-hop to try to cope with the reality that we all live in a rough world. In his work, Taylor wishes to “bring back the soul and hard work ethos that has been lost in hip-hop...I feel like hip-hop is about art and poetry, and that’s what I’m aiming to bring back.”
