Born and raised in BC, Canada, and based in Detroit, MI, Mike Tone has been passionate about music since a young kid, crate digging and hitting record shops every week to pick up the latest releases and burn CD's for his friends. With a natural ear for music, and inspiration from west coast and southern camps like Death Row, No Limit, Aftermath, Hypnotize Minds, etc., it wasn't long before Mike began picking up production equipment to start crafting beats of his own. Mike Tone began producing for Canadian rapper King Matty in 2009, releasing tracks like Vancouver 2 The Bay with underground bay area legend San Quinn, and They Don't Know (feat. Merkules). After a several year hiatus to attend Berklee School of Music, sharpening his skills around production, mixing, and mastering, Mike Tone has returned in 2023 to release his compilation project "LEGENDS," working with names like Project Pat, WC, Silkk The Shocker and the No Limit crew, Do Or Die, Outlawz, and many others. Mike also re-connected with King Matty to produce his sophomore album, FIRE in April, 2023, and is currently working on King Matty's 3rd album "Libra" dropping in 2024. With more projects and collaborations in the pipeline, Mike Tone continues to raise the bar with every new release. Stay tuned!
