After a chance meeting on a tour bus somewhere in the middle of America in 2013, Canadian singer/songwriter Amy Kirkpatrick and UK producers Tristan McGarrigle and Robbie Ashdown got talking about their shared passion for music. A few years later they began exchanging ideas that would eventually come together and form Thrds. Thrds are entirely self-produced and embrace the concept of creating music across borders. With lyrics written in Toronto, instrumental elements created between home studios in Dubai and London and vocals finally recorded in a basement in Los Angeles. The guitars, layered melodies, raw lyrics, and electronic textures create the indie/alternative atmosphere that connects Thrds through blending time zones and genres. ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ recognises it's pop sensibilities, by combining simple layered guitars and vocal melodies, while ‘Won’t Leave L.A.’ sets an emotional landscape meant for heartbreak and headphones.
