Cordae's new label Hi Level has signed their first artist: RG Simba. This came only a week after Simba was released from prison, he served 5 years. He was originally supposed to serve 24 years but he was released after appealing his case, he maintained innocence throughout. Simba hopped in the studio almost instantly and his first track is aptly titled "First Day Out", the music video did 100K in only a few days. The 2nd record “Keep Crying” drops on December 2nd. If you follow Cordae, you have been hearing #FreeSimba for the past 5 years as the two are best friends and grew up recording together. Cordae spoke on Simba whenever he could, including on Jimmy Fallon and in an interview with Ebro. Simba (real name: Shiloh) has the intro song "Shiloh's Intro" on Cordae's latest album 'From a Bird's Eye View', spitting the verse from a prison phone. Simba is a legend within the DMV area with 20M+ views on his music videos and started to make a buzz in the industry even before Cordae. The two artists collaborated on several tracks including "Tough Decisions". Fans were already excited for this comeback simply from knowing his story but this new music will only amplify that. Simba's flow over the clean beat is the perfect reintroduction and reminder for fans of how infectious his sound is. Simba will continue to drop more records in the next few months.
