Jessie Evans is a Californian born singer, saxophonist, record producer and visual artist currently living in Brazil. As a teenager, Jessie learned to play saxophone and moved to San Francisco, forming the all girl punk rock quartet Subtonix. Shortly after, she began singing and playing bass and started the The Vanishing. In 2004 she moved to Berlin where she formed the electronic duet Autonervous with Bettina Koester of the German all girl dark wave band Malaria! During that time she also collaborated with Glass Candy, Hanin Elias (Atari Teenage Riot), and Lydia Lunch. On her first two solo albums she played most the instruments and invited an array of friends to join. In 2009, "Is it Fire?" was be recorded in Mexico and co-produced by Pepe Mogt of Nortec Collective. This album feat. Budgie (Siouxsie and the Banshees), Martin Wenk (Calexico) and longtime drummer Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop). Her second album "Glittermine" feat. Steve Mackay (Iggy and The Stooges), Warrior Queen (Jamaica/ Soul Jazz), Jimi Tenor (Finland) and King Khan(Berlin). In 2013, Jessie moved to Sao Paulo where she met an Angolan Freestyle singer named Pitshu and two Dub producers: Victor Rice (New York City) and Kas Dub (Sao Paulo). The result was the album “In love with Jessie & Pitshu” Armed with her saxophone like a machine gun, this former punk struts and shimmies to hypnotic beats to stamp her glittery universe into the stars.
