Niche percussionist, live performer, diy producer & composer, roscius has spent the last decade building himself a unique reputation in the alternative music world. Mastering the art of improvisation, combining percussive experiments, lyric-less vocals, rare live sampling and harmonization skills, roscius “creates a unique and absorbing soundscape, genuinely innovative and emotional”. Touring independently from Beirut to Glastonbury Festival, via We Love Green (Paris), Clockenflap (Hong Kong), Amsterdam Dance Event, New York, and the rest of the world, enabled him to collect crafted music instruments, his most recent asset being a chromatic balafon handmade in Burkina Faso, which he plays the non-traditional way (with 4 soft mallets) in order to create his very own organic musical and cinematic journey, sailing from nu Jazz to an acoustic version of progressive garage, acid house or minimal techno, with touches of bulgarian and pygmies-influenced singing, south american rhythm patterns, asian gongs blended with west african time signatures. His peculiar way of mingling genres enabled him to share stages with heavy weights such as Crazy P, Jon Hopkins, Francesco Tristano, Coco Maria, Keiichiro Shibuya, Mykki Blanco, Acid Pauli, Terry Francis, JSPHYNX, Marc Rebillet, Neon Indian or anglo-zulu (and Steam Down vocalist) DemiMa. After a few years dedicated to composing & producing scores for movies & documentaries, roscius is back with a nu diptych single: SAUDADE / SAÚDE
