Wavewulf (Nicholas Long) was first inspired to play synthesizers at age 13, in the early 90s, when he went to see Depeche Mode and saw them making inspiring music with synthesizers. During his teen and early adult years, he was able to hone his skills in local bands, composing music using synthesizers, midi and a sequencer. After graduate school in 2017 (and losing both of his parents to cancer), Long invested in more analogue synthesizers and recording equipment. He made his first album, Oscillation, and released it in 2019. Since then, Wavewulf has expanded his synth collection and has made 4 more albums. His new album "Unbreakable Soul" has the Soul and it's trancendence as a theme. The album is also an exploration of both individuality and connection with others. "Wavewulf deserves further investigation for both the discerning electronic music listener as well as those not as familiar with the genre. We also highly recommend “The North and the Sea” for its tantalizing sound and uniqueness." - LA Weekly “[The North and the Sea] brought us a sense of urgency and clarity into the meaning of freedom. The album’s core concept is not only Wavewulf’s quest for freedom but also the lengths he went to search for and celebrate it.” - SPIN Magazine
