Run for the Whales is an emo influenced alternative rock band that has been labeled "a pretty good band" by at least a few of their parents. Having known each other since they were kids, RFTW came together in high school, united by their love of music and performance. Years later, they continue to collaborate and create explosive west-coast emo influenced pop-punk with a New York twist. The band became well versed in local DIY scenes, where they gained a reputation for their positive and excited energy, and their immensely catchy tunes. The band has released two full length albums, numerous singles and EPS, and performed live in many cities on the East Coast. The band announced an official indefinite hiatus in the spring of 2023, and performed their final show in New Paltz, NY to send them off.
