Anti-M began as a trio of keyboardists but evolved into a 5 piece band with various guest artists (including the late great Ronnie Montrose). While the early albums had mostly an electronic sound with David Bowie / Peter Murphy like male vocals the later music had a harder darker sound with female vocals. Influences include Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation on the more recent material. Ronnie Montrose had this to say about working with Anti-M : "I liked the quirkiness of the Anti-m project. It was very satisfying knowing at the end of the session feeling that I'd really done interesting guitar work and the beauty of the process was just taking ideas and adding and making it happen. I'm very pleased and satisfied with my contribution." In 2019 Anti-M released Pieces, a covers album, featuring songs from 4 decades. It is the first album the band has done with all female vocals and features guest singers Dru Allen (of This Ascension, Mirabilis, Mercury's Antennae), Summer Bowman (Mirabilis) and Alexa, who sings on the Delain cover of See Me In Shadow. The album shows the bands influences with covers that include Starless (King Crimson), In Your Room (Depeche Mode), Nighttime Birds (The Gathering) as well as the 80's hits Voices Carry ('Til Tuesday) and The Metro (Berlin).The band has also been preparing another full album of original material.
