Jake Hilla, better known by his stage name theDGTL is an American record producer, rapper, artist, and saxophonist that has emerged in the Pacific Northwest’s hip hop and electronic scene as the executive producer behind Tri Cities native and long time collaborator Nobi along with acts like Kung Foo Grip (and individually Mr. Hentvii and Greg Cypher), Zenais, Cervantes, and a collection of rare talents based around the upper west coast’s burgeoning explosion of music, art, and culture. Utilizing a background firmly rooted in jazz tradition as a foundation for off-the-wall genre fusing compositions, theDGTL brings a unique dynamic range to the hip hop and electronic genre which serves as a perfect canvas for the basement soul melodies reminiscent of The Dungeon along with Electro Lady type nostalgia that turns on a dime to a hip hop cadence one could expect from holding company with some of the finest emcees in the region.
