Austin Holt (born January 9, 1994), commonly known by his stage name Holt, is a hip hop artist and songwriter from Windsor, Missouri. The definition of "up-and-comer" he is amassing a following locally and nationwide. Holt is one of the most prominent figures in the Missouri hip hop scene. Known as having a distinct "teenage" delivery and breathless rapid-fire style, Holt has performed alongside artists such as CES Cru, and Twisted Insane. His versatile skillset hasn't gone unrecognized, exemplified by collaborations with artists Darrein Safron, and Steven Cooper. Austin spent all of his childhood years in the small town of Windsor MO, 30 minutes from where he was born. 3 days after his birth, a nurse at GVMH in Clinton, had noticed something unusual about his heart rate. She recognized an apparent heart murmur and forwarded the message to the doctor. Austin was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect known as DORV. This medical condition required various, open-heart surgeries so he could lead close to a normal life. Throughout his years in school, Austin was small in stature and had a hard time gaining weight due to his condition. Ridiculed by his peers, he was a common victim of bullying. With no clearance to play sports, he sought refuge in art. In 2008, he started writing lyrics with a close friend. Upon graduation in 2012, he was bombarded with health issues and took a vow to push his music to the next level. He is currently an independent artist.
