Samuel Strouk is a French composer, guitarist, musical director, and artistic director. His work spans album publishing, music tours, and orchestral creation. In 2007, he was nominated for a Cubadisco prize for his album "Carhabana." He has engaged in intercultural projects in India, Nepal, Burkina Faso, and Cuba. In 2016, he received the French American Jazz Exchange (FAJE) grant for his project "Babel Melody a dialogue of Languages." Strouk directed and arranged "Trintignant Mille Piazzolla," winning the Grand Prix International du Disque et du DVD de l’Académie Charles Cros in 2018. His double concerto "Le rêve de Maya" premiered in Russia in 2019. Following this, the Vivacello festival commissioned his double concerto "Elise mon Mirage," premiered in Moscow in 2021. Strouk has received commissions from Radio France, Columbia College Chicago, and several orchestras and festivals. His works have been performed globally, including at the Musiikkitalo Philharmonic and Moscow International Cello Festival in 2019 and 2021 Renowned musicians such as Bireli Lagrene, François Salque, and Boris Andrianov perform his music. As a conductor, he has led the Orchestre national D'ile De France and Helsinki Chamber Orchestra. As a guitarist, he premiered his guitar concerto "Égalité" at Rennes Opera and has performed with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Cartagena Music Festival. Since 2013, Strouk has been the artistic director of the Maisons-Laffitte Jazz Festival.
