Ríoghnach performs Traditional music with her family project Lí Ban and is a member of international touring projects; The Breath (Real World), HoneyFeet (We Are Stardust) Band of Burns (Órd Bán) and Afro Celt Sound System (ECC). In 2019 she was nominated for RTÉ’s Folk Singer of the Year and currently holds the title for BBC2’s Folk Singer of the Year 2019 and 2020. Ríoghnach Connolly is a traditional sean nós singer and flautist from Armagh, in the northeast of Ireland. Bestowed with a rich familial heritage; her Father Tarlac an Uilleann Piper and Seanchaí and Grandparents on both sides being singers and song collectors. Ríoghnach studied flute with Martin Meehan and the late Aidan Prunty. Her musical education was cultivated through 2 Generations of Armagh Pipers Club. Ríoghnach holds All Ireland titles in the National Competitions of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Oireachtas, Slógadh and Scór. Now based in Manchester, she is a professional musician, vocalist, lyricist, vocal coach, workshop facilitator, community musician, musical activist and humanitarian. Ríoghnach has worldwide publishing with Real World and is a prolific and firebrand performer, songwriter and composer. Her music has synchronised to Film, TV, performance soundtrack, online and immersive media soundscape.
