Biography

Thiel is an award-winning composer and producer who splits his time between Austin and LA. Born in Mexico City, he was exposed to a rich and wide variety of cultural experiences and musical styles from a very early age. Thiel began studying classical piano at the age of six and attended high school at Trinity College School in Ontario, Canada where he flourished in art and music studies. He attended the University of Texas, where he studied Radio, TV & Film, while continuing his pursuit of musical advancement. He also collaborated with self-sustaining pop/rock bands in addition to working as a commercial composer and worked with numerous global brands and clients. By the early 2000s, Thiel’s work attracted the attention of film director Robert Rodriguez, who hired him to produce the theme song for his second "Spy Kids" film. This marked the beginning of a unique musical journey and creative collaboration that continues to this date. Thiel's recent projects include: "Machete Kills", "Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For", "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series", the highly acclaimed independent feature "The Teller and the Truth”, Rooster Teeth's sci-fi comedy "Lazer Team 2", and "Diving Deep: The Life and Times of Mike deGruy". He just finished the score to "Seis Manos", an exciting new Netflix original Animé series, produced by the same team that brought you "Castlevania."
