Born in Cappadocia Turkey, Berkay Mete is a DJ, Producer, Event Curator and Label Owner from the city of one of the most recently stirring scenes: Istanbul and he is currently based in Melbourne. As a releasing artist from LNDKHN, Shango Records, Kosa Musica, General Purpose and Kulampara, Berkay Mete brings his toxic eastern sounds to a bed heavy electronica and indie dance. He finds his groove by mixing world sounds and bends various scales with his slowly shifting and rhythmic sounds. His productions have been supported by the likes of Les Yeux Orange, Cornelius Doctor, Zigan Aldi, Que Sakamoto, Rina, FalscherHase, Omri Smadar and The Organism… You are likely to hear a fusion of Instrumental grooves, Electronica and Indie Dance in his sets. Though, anything can be expected from him due to his wide-ranging background and knowledge in music. He has been moving crowds since 2009 and has been delivering various kinds of genres to his audience. His ability of reading the crowd and mixing skills are top of the range. Berkay is also the creator of Melbourne’s latest Eastern Electronica label: ‘’Kulampara’’ and a curator in Proton Radio team with his mix series called ‘’Kulampara’’ as well. It takes its name from his most recent club night: Klub Kulampara which is the Melbourne outlet of Istanbul's Mete: A celebration of transcendental electronic grooves from Anatolia and beyond.
