Biography

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dru Bex was exposed to the world at a very young age. Losing his mother at the age of 7, he navigated the streets of Toronto with the values that she instilled in him. The same passion and drive fuels the music that he creates – life from a spiritual perspective – telling his story while offering commentary on the world as he sees it.
Formerly with Canadian independent hip-hop label, Role Model Records (RMR), Dru has released a consistent body of work that includes strong collaborations. His first commercial project, Imperfect Messenger, followed closely by his most acclaimed single, Running Man, garnered close to 500K streams on Apple Music and Spotify and lead to his second release, The Good Album. The project debuted in the top 10 of iTunes Hip-Hop chart and spawned the singles Good Riddance and Finally Found featuring S.O., Sean C. Johnson, and Beleaf. A series of singles followed which included Gamez, Winter in July, and Actually, but it was Midnight in Miami, that would become another one of Dru’s biggest singles, generating well over 500K streams on Apple Music and Spotify. Due to the song’s popularity, it was included on his third release, In God’s Good Time, which saw Dru yet again achieve a top 10 album position on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart year over year. The project has streamed over 1 million streams to date, marking Dru’s position as one of indie hip-hop’s promising stars.
