King PhaRoar , born Takudzwa Solomon Gavi is a Zimbabwean Hip-Hop and R&B artist born in Harare. His talent for music manifested at a young age, having been a choir boy since 7 Years old. It took a lot of time for him to figure out whether or not he should continue the path of music considering it didn’t seem practical in our economic climate, but dreams work harder than our problems. Scribbling in notebooks throughout his high school days and trying to put together something cohesive, it was his ability to recite song lyrics by heart that gave him a bit more clarity on how to channel his gift. After leaving Zimbabwe for a bit in 2019, he joined a music group in Canada called “Young Black Kings,” little did he know how much weight that would carry in his road to true artistry. His first single “Legend” which is exclusively on SoundCloud gained popularity quickly. It saw him being invited to Fort Richmond College to speak to some of the kids there during a difficult time which was the death of the late Kobe Bryant. His first official release in March 2020 was Watch Yo Tone which really solidified his place in the rap scene early on in his career. He went on to release PRAY FREESTYLE , OUTCAST and FALLING. Just the structure of the releases alone tells you the diversity in this artist. King PhaRoar is currently working on bringing the bounce back into the music scene, like back in the old days. We await more music, videos and art from the young artist in the near future.
