Jazz singer of the year 2024 in Iceland. Kristjana Stefáns has been one of the leading artists in the Icelandic Jazz scene for years. She is also a Award winning composer for theatre. Her first album was released in 1996 and since then she has made multiple recordings as a soloist and as a guest performer. She works annually with The Reykjavik Big Band and her own trio. She has been nominated several times for the Icelandic Music Awards and is a multiple winner for the Icelandic Theatre Awards. She has collaborated in recording projects with artist such as saxophonist and composer Sigurdur Flosason and poet Adalsteinn Asberg Sigurdsson, folk musician Svavar Knútur, folk & jazz musician Ragga Gröndal, jazzpianist Sunna Gunnlaugs, jazz pianist Karl Olgeirsson, bassist and composer Tómas R. Einarsson, the Icons Pall Oskar & Bubbi Morthens, the late crooner Ragnar Bjarnason and The Reykjavik Big Band. Also with Jazz players such as pianist Eythor Gunnarsson (Mezzoforte), saxophonist Michael Erian, bassist Drew Gress and drummer John Hollenbeck. Kristjana lives and works in Reykjavik, Iceland.
