"Endearingly sweet, Lisa Gary’s powerful, but pretty vocals take control of pure lyrics with a quiet ease.” -The Music Rag Lisa is an up-and-coming jazz and pop singer from NYC, where she trained under legendary stars Marni Nixon (The Voice of Hollywood) and Lew Soloff (Blood, Sweat & Tears). From a young age, she was surrounded by her father’s passion for jazz and began her musical journey playing trumpet under his wing. She went on to study Jazz Voice at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montreal and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance. Though her roots are set deep in jazz, Lisa’s unique approach to singing bridges the gap between jazz and pop, while combining subtle elements of blues, indie, folk, country, and motown. As she’s been crooning her way around the city with bands like The Birdland Big Band and touring the world with viral phenomenon Postmodern Jukebox, Lisa has accumulated over a million views on YouTube and over a million plays across streaming platforms. Her first album was released in 2019, produced by the iconic Rob Mounsey and featuring her mentor Lew Soloff, who devastatingly passed away shortly after the record was finished. Lisa views her album Goin' Your Way as a tribute to their friendship and hopes others will treasure it as well. She is now taking on the recording process herself— watch out for Lisa's new string of self-produced releases!
