Biography

I consider myself a poet, a prophet, a musician, a lyricist, and a singer. I write my experiences and perform them in ways that are made to be not only digestible but attention-grabbing in hopes that they help to heal and open the eyes of people. I want to poke and make bystanders uncomfortable so they can think about ideas and realities they may have not yet questioned or challenged. In addition, I am a follower of Christ and my family has a long line of those who see visions and receive words and messages through dreams. I often speak about my relationship with God and how I am no saint. In contrast, I, also, like to have fun and enjoy the music I make. Just because I'm a woman who enjoys the Bible, doesn't mean I don't like to dance and shake a little something too. There is a lot of power in honesty and vulnerability with yourself in music, and I think that is something a lot of artists have not tapped into. They look outward rather than inward. While being a record keeper of the environment around you is incredibly important, it's just ad important to note how that affects you as the record keeper. It's hard being the one who has to tell the hard truth to those who may not be ready to hear it. My inspirations are Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Anthony Hamilton, Musiq Soulchild, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Doja Cat, and Kanye West.
